From Three Businesses to One Connected Operation
V Group Consulting & Solutions has begun an ERP implementation in collaboration with a multi-business health and wellness manufacturing group in Thailand, deploying V-Plant ERP, our manufacturing industry solution, to build a connected foundation across production, formula management, product traceability, inventory, and multi-company financial operations.
Many manufacturers invest heavily in production capability, laboratory capacity and quality certification. However, the strength of the back-office foundation is equally critical for sustainable, traceable and audit-ready operations.
We are grateful for the trust placed in V Group Consulting & Solutions Co., Ltd., having been selected to support the ERP implementation for a multi-business health and wellness manufacturing group in Thailand.
Operating an OEM/ODM manufacturing business is far more complex than running a production line. Behind every finished product lies a coordinated structure involving formula development, raw material sourcing, extraction and processing, sample production, quality control, product registration, packaging, warehousing, distribution and financial management — all operating together, and all required to agree with one another.
This group operates with a multi-company structure across several production sites, spanning animal health products, nutraceutical and cosmeceutical manufacturing, and sustainable aquaculture. Its facilities are certified under international quality, food safety, hygiene and sustainability standards, and its products serve both global brand partners and the group's own brands.
Three business models, one system
What makes this engagement distinctive is that the group does not operate one business three times over. It operates three genuinely different models under a single set of consolidated accounts.
Contract manufacturing runs on formulas rather than assemblies — percentage-based recipes, active ingredient potency that varies by input lot, and finished goods delivered in multiple formats from tablets and capsules through to softgels, powders and liquids. Each format carries its own equipment, packaging structure and quality release requirements.
In-house extraction means the group does not simply blend purchased ingredients. It produces active extracts itself, before they enter finished-product formulation. This adds an upstream processing layer, with its own yield behaviour, that the system must represent honestly rather than assume.
Aquaculture follows a different logic altogether. Biological assets grow, consume feed, and are harvested on nature's schedule rather than a production plan. Standard inventory logic assumes stock sits still until it is moved; a working farm does not behave that way. Designing for this deliberately, rather than adapting it later, is one of the more interesting challenges of the project.
Scope
Why V-Plant ERP
Rather than configuring a general-purpose ERP from a blank slate, this implementation is built on V-Plant ERP : Our V Group's manufacturing industry solution, built on Odoo.
That foundation matters. Odoo is a proven enterprise platform used by hundreds of thousands of organizations worldwide, with an open architecture, a continuous release cycle, and a total cost of ownership that puts genuine enterprise capability within reach of mid-sized manufacturers. Building on it means our clients inherit that ecosystem and that upgrade path, rather than being tied to a closed system maintained by a single vendor.
But a general-purpose platform, on its own, does not know what a process manufacturer really needs. Formula-based production behaves nothing like discrete assembly. In-house extraction creates multi-level bills of material with intermediates whose yield moves with input quality. Lot and expiry control has to be enforced from goods receipt to delivery, not recorded after the fact. Costing has to stay honest across short runs, changeovers and multiple product formats. And in Thailand, withholding tax certification, VAT treatment and tax-invoice format are day-one requirements rather than later enhancements.
V-Plant ERP is the layer that closes that gap. It is the accumulation of what our consultants have learned delivering manufacturing and multi-entity implementations across Thailand and Japan — the process designs that worked, the data structures that held up under audit, and the localization that Thai statutory compliance actually demands. Each engagement refines it further.
For a client, the practical effect is that the project does not begin at zero. The industry foundation is already in place, so the design phase is spent on what genuinely differentiates this group's operations, rather than on rebuilding what every process manufacturer needs. That shortens the timeline and removes an entire category of implementation risk.
